She said that back in those days dinner was a way to fuel the body, not an Event (I'm paraphrasing). That folks weren't thinking about how to make fancy meals, just how to get dinner on the table. It's got my mind percolating about canned soup to be sure. (And I've got recipes on here using canned soup--not knocking canned soup at all as sometimes it's just the thing for what I am trying to achieve).
Anyway, thank you--I love these buns and loved photographing my mom making them!Kirstenhttp://www.farmfreshfeasts.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689405125611757524.post-22273905132685453602015-10-15T10:34:15.645-07:002015-10-15T10:34:15.645-07:00What a wonderful post. Unfortunately my own mom didn't like to cook or back much, so I don't have any memories of learning from her. But she did give me a set of recipe cards to take to college - with a cup of Campbell's soup in each recipe (: - Wish I could have been a fly on the wall for this breadbaking lesson. Of course the rolls look wonderful too :) MotherWouldKnowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05993990603543539149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689405125611757524.post-30929917874413809082013-11-29T06:20:21.189-08:002013-11-29T06:20:21.189-08:00Cheryl,

Right now I am using my tools, specifically my bread maker, to bake our sourdough loaves for toast, sandwiches, etc, but as the weather turns to a slower season (and I'm not trying to put up produce) I plan to get my hands dirty.
Thanks!Kirstenhttp://www.farmfreshfeasts.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4689405125611757524.post-2164169531812946682013-11-29T06:17:24.632-08:002013-11-29T06:17:24.632-08:00Sarah,

Opens up possibilities for pizza dough, too . . . . Definitely a lesson for me here.
